Kazakhstan Expands Food Supply to Uzbekistan

UzFood 2026: Kazakhstan Showcases Leading Brands in Tashkent

From April 1 to 3, 2026, the 25th International Exhibition “Food Products, Ingredients and Production Technologies – UzFood 2026” took place in Tashkent. The event traditionally serves as a key industry platform for the Central Asian region in the fields of the food industry and the agri-food sector.

This year, more than 400 companies from 30 countries participated in the exhibition. The exposition covered the entire production cycle: from raw material processing and manufacturing of finished food products to modern packaging technologies and logistics solutions.

Kazakhstan presented a pool of leading export-oriented enterprises aimed at strengthening their positions in the promising market of Uzbekistan. The national exposition included JSC Araltuz, the largest producer of edible salt in the region; JSC GALANZ Bottlers, a leader in the non-alcoholic beverages segment; Emil LLP, a manufacturer of high-quality ice cream; and Zin-Kaz LLP, one of the leading exporters of tomato products.

The participation of domestic businesses in the region’s largest industry exhibition is aimed at implementing the country’s export strategy and diversifying the structure of bilateral trade. Particular emphasis is placed on increasing supplies of medium- and high-value-added products, which directly aligns with the Head of State’s policy to strengthen Kazakhstan’s status as a regional food hub.

As part of the business program, Alisher Khakimov, Regional Director of the Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan (ECA) in the Republic of Uzbekistan, held a series of meetings with representatives of профильные government agencies and major retail chains. During the negotiations, current government support instruments were presented, including export contract insurance, trade finance, deferred payment insurance, coverage of commercial and political risks, as well as pre-export financing mechanisms.

Special attention was given to the structuring of export transactions with financial support provided to foreign buyers of Kazakhstani products, which contributes to increasing the accessibility of domestic goods in foreign markets.

“Uzbekistan is among the top three key countries in the ECA’s portfolio. By the end of 2025, the total volume of support provided to exporters supplying products to this market amounted to approximately 150 billion tenge,” the Agency noted.

The ECA continues to develop a comprehensive system to support national exports, combining insurance, financing, and support instruments for foreign trade operations. Strengthening the institutional presence in the Uzbek market and across Central Asia contributes to deeper regional economic integration, expansion of cooperation ties, and an increase in the share of Kazakhstani high value-added products in international trade.
