Kazakhstan and Tajikistan enhance partnership in mining industry

The Pamir Invest 2024 International Investment Forum was held in Tajikistan, bringing together over 300 participants, including representatives from government agencies, international organizations, financial institutions, investors, and entrepreneurs from around the globe.

Ramesh Khudoiev, the Regional Director of Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan in Tajikistan, participated in the event. He engaged in discussions with Alisher Mirzonabot, the Chairman of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Tajikistan.

The key focus of their meeting was fostering cooperation in the mining sector. The Kazakh company Deadalus Mind Project presented an ambitious initiative involving geological exploration, innovative technology development, and strategies to attract investments to the region. This proposal garnered considerable interest from the Tajik delegation, leading to the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation. This agreement paves the way for new opportunities in the mining sector for both countries.

Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan is committed to supporting Kazakhstani exporters in the Tajik market. In 2023, Kazakhstani exporters engaged in projects in Tajikistan secured financing totaling 4.8 billion tenge. In the first half of 2024 alone, this figure reached 2.2 billion tenge. The range of exported goods includes vehicles, paints and varnishes, confectionery, rolled metal products, and more.
