Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan strengthens cooperation with the European Union

Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan engaged in a session with the Council of the European Union Working Group on Export Credits in Brussels. The meeting focused on mutually beneficial collaboration in export support and the advancement of green initiatives.

Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan (ECA) convened a productive meeting with the Council of the European Union Working Group on Export Credits in Brussels. The discussions centered around fostering mutually advantageous collaboration in export support and advancing green initiatives.

Attendees included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium, Credendo Export Credit Agency, as well as Baiterek Holding and its subsidiaries.

Timur Sultangozhin, Deputy Head of the Kazakhstan Mission to the European Union, elucidated Kazakhstan's trade and economic potential, underscoring its commitment to bolstering transport and logistics capabilities.

Ayan Bektybayeva, Deputy Chairperson of the Board of Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan, emphasized Kazakhstan's pledge to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.

The meeting showcased successful instances of financing major infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan involving ECAs and prominent international export credit agencies, evidencing the efficacy of collaborative export support and fostering stronger trade and economic bonds between Kazakhstan and EU nations.

Notably, Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan emerged as one of the first members of the Net Zero Export Credit Agencies Alliance (NZECA), affiliating within the international alliance during COP28. This move aimed to consolidate strategic ESG initiatives, engage with industry leaders, and adopt best practices to collectively pursue the alliance's objectives.
